about

I am lucky to live about a 30 minute drive from a very special, ancient earthwork with a ruined Norman church in the centre of the circle. The Black Death wiped out the village there some 700 years ago, but the place is very much alive somehow. It's what the Celts would call a 'thin place', where the veil between the material and spiritual realm seems to be somewhat removed. There are yew trees in the opening to the circle in the banks of earth, with myriad prayers and trinkets hung on their branches. I recorded this little tune with my TASCAM field recorder within the church ruin and on my little Seagul four-stringed guitar. I go there quite regularly and have always wanted to record music there.
